A kinetics based activated sludge model was calibrated using historical data obtained from the Blue River Treatment Plant. Simulations were run using the monthly influent and reactor temperature design values. The purpose of these simulations was to demonstrate the operational conflicts that arise when using constant SRT, constant MLVSS, and constant F:M ration WAS flow rate control strategies in the activated sludge process.
