This project concept demonstrates the role that membrane technologies can serve in fast-track projects with challenging source water conditions and stringent finished water requirements. The application of membrane technology for this new advanced water treatment facility (AWTF) promotes maximum utility of existing water sources, environmental protection through avoidance of surface water discharges and water conservation. Membrane technologies provide solutions to unique challenges with their ability to: remove a wide array of chemical contaminants, consistently produce a high-quality water, achieve high removal rates of pathogenic organisms, adapt to variable incoming water sources with little change to operations and allow for modular construction in a modest site footprint.
