This paper describes the City of Phoenix Water Services Department project to assess and identify enhanced use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to support the City¡¦s wastewater collection CMOM (capacity, management, operation and maintenance) continuous improvement program. CMMS has been identified as a key element in managing information and work practices necessary to implement and sustain continuous improvement of a well managed wastewater collection program. Improvements and enhancements to CMMS were identified and developed using work practice assessment and mapping through extensive involvement of the wastewater collection staff at all levels of the organization. The results of the assessment are: „X More efficient information processes eliminating paperwork and duplication „X Work practices are documented for consistency and training „X Enhanced use of the CMMS for work management „X Identification of current and future CMMS requirements to support CMOM „X More appropriate data for management of the collection system „X Identification of revised work practices needed to enable effective use of the CMMS
