A Georgia treatment plant intends to test a new method for optimizing the use of digester gas to generate power. As part of an effort to retrofit an existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with anaerobic digesters, the Columbus (Ga.) Water Works is developing a new process, known as Columbus Biosolids Flow-Through Thermophilic Treatment (CBFT), to reduce pathogens and produce Class A biosolids.
