Developments in technology for soil dispersal for decentralized systems in small communities have been documented. Cases where potable water supplies have been conserved because of successful water recycling in decentralized systems have received less attention. Two cases—Malibu, CA and Olympia, WA are described in which water reuse has extended or conserved potable water supplies.
