In August 1986, Stanford University completed the installation of an 800-pound-per-hour incinerator at its Environmental Safety Facility (ESF) on the university’s campus near Palo Alto, California. The three-building ESF complex, which is scheduled for occupancy by September 30, centralizes the handling of over 900 tons per year of special wastes produced on campus.
