Constructed wetlands can be used to reclaim and reuse municipal and industrial wastewater. Reclamation can involve removal of BOD, suspended solids, nitrogen, phosphorus, metals, and reduction in temperature and toxicity. Reuse involves the creation of habitat for wildlife, aesthetics and scenic enjoyment, and recreational opportunities.
