Modeling studies at hydraulics laboratories at Montana State University and ENSR Consulting and Engineering have confirmed the validity of an innovative departure in the design of wastewater pumping stations. The design approach, originally developed for variable speed stations and proven over more that 30 years’ experience, has been altered to accommodate constant speed pumps. Design examples are presented for both rectangular and circular plan wet wells.
