May 23, 2013, WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Brown and Caldwell, a leading nationwide environmental engineering firm, today announced the promotion of five senior management members.

Jay Patil, PE, Senior Vice President, is promoted to the role of Director of Client Services, with company-wide responsibility for sales and growth strategies. Patil has 21 years of experience in private industry and consulting with extensive experience in environmental management, engineering and finance. Previously, Patil served as Business Unit Manager for the Western Region, responsible for managing the operations of BC’s California and Hawaii offices.
Cindy Paulson, PhD, Senior Vice President, is promoted to the new position of Director of Technical Services, with executive leadership responsibility for advancing technical services and solutions. Paulson has managed programs and projects across a range of water-related issues throughout the country over the past 25 years, including ecosystem restoration, water quality assessments, watershed planning and management; water supply planning, sustainability, and stakeholder consensus building.
Marc Damikolas, PE, is promoted to Senior Vice President and Business Unit Manager for the California region, replacing Jay Patil. Damikolas’ technical background encompasses planning, design, and construction of civil engineering projects over the last 16 years. Previously, Damikolas served as the Southern California Area Leader for BC’s Irvine, Los Angeles and San Diego offices.
Robert Ash, PE, is promoted to Senior Vice President and the new company role of Enterprise Risk Manager. Ash has 31 years of professional experience in the design, construction, and remediation of solid and hazardous waste management facilities, investigation and remediation of industrial facilities, groundwater and wastewater treatment design.
Jeffrey Theerman, PE, Vice President, is promoted to lead the newly combined Utility Performance, Operations & Maintenance, and Information Technology Group. Theerman joined Brown and Caldwell after completing 28 years with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) serving as their Executive Director for nine years. He managed and supervised a 900-person staff with an annual operating budget of $161.9 million.
