Protecting and restoring Louisiana's coast

Brown and Caldwell helped the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority develop its 2012 Coastal Master Plan — a new integrated planning framework to validate and prioritize a $50 billion, 50-year CIP for coastal restoration, flood protection and resiliency projects. Providing overall program management and task leadership, Brown and Caldwell coordinated the efforts of more than 60 planners, coastal scientists, engineers, and modelers. Preliminary analysis indicates the plan will result in an $18 billion decrease in annual damages from storm surge and an annual land gain for the first time since the 1930s.
